screenshot1Sep 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Young fans of Katy Perry will not be able to see their favorite star running around with Elmo on ‘Sesame Street’ as the video has been banned after the parents found it too raunchy. In the video Katy Perry is seen in a yellow dress which has straps and is low cut. Some parents felt that the dress was too risque for the children to see. Some felt too much cleavage was revealed in the video where Katy Perry was singing a different version of her hit ‘Hot N Cold’. Some parents have also found the lyrics of the song too suggestive.

PBS was planning to start its 41st season with the Katy Perry and Elmo video which received significant hype even before the airing date. In a more recent statement the network announced that they will not be airing the video of the ‘California Gurl’. Though some of the fans of the pop star will be disappointed, the network has assured that the video will be available on YouTube. Bloggers have given a mixed response to the video with some saying that the parents have overreacted and some feeling that the video did have strong sexual undertones.

Katy Perry was named the hottest woman in the world in recent survey. Her videos are known to combine playful and colorful themes with sexually provocative styles. Though considered a style icon for young girls across the planet, she also appears on covers of several magazines that are meant for the more mature. Among some of the feedback that the parents gave after previewing the video, one said that they should now rename ‘Sesame Street’ as ‘Cleavage Avenue’.
