Katy Perry To Host 2010 Teen Choice Awards

Pop princess, Katy Perry will be hosting the 12th Annual Teen Choice awards. She will also be performing during the event which is scheduled to be aired on the 9th of August. Perry will have a co-host, whose name is yet to be announced.
Last year, the Teen Choice Awards were hosted by the Jonas Brothers and the year before that saw Miley Cyrus doing the honors.
The award function will take place nearly two weeks before the official release of her upcoming album, Teenage Dreams. The album will be hitting the stores on the 24th of August. She presented the first single of the album ‘California Gurls’ at the MTV Movie Awards last Sunday. She will also be seen at the MuchMusic Awards on June 27th.
Twenty five year old Perry got widespread recognition for her internet hit ‘Ur So Gay’ in 2007. Her breakthrough single ‘I Kissed a Girl’ became a hit and established her credibility as a singer. Her first mainstream album ‘One of the Boys’ came out in 2008 and reached number nine on the Billboard 200.
Perry will be making her film debut in The Smurfs which is slated for a 2011 release. She will star alongside Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathan Winters, Alan Cumming, and George Lopez.
