Katy Perry started her singing career in a church

August 28, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):Singing Diva katy perry is well known for her spicy lyrics and revealing outfits, but few fans know that she started her career by singing in a church. Hold on there is more! The church was founded by her minister parents. Katy told David Letterman that she used to sing ‘Oh Happy Day’ and “His Eye is On The Sparrow Too’ starting at the age of nine.
Perry, who is famous for her song “I Kissed A Girl’ said that although she has come a long distance from her conservative roots she is still very close to her Evangelical Christian Parents. She also said that her parents might not agree with what she does but they do not love her any less either. Referring to her skimpy outfit on the cover of Rolling Stone, Letterman asked if her parents were comfortable with the show business. Perry replied that her parents do not take much interest in her career and choose to ignore the raunchy bits.
Perry also said that her parents really like her fiancé British Actor/Comedian Russell Brand. She said since both her father and Russell have a charismatic personality, the two like each other. When Katy was asked about her wedding date, she chose to stay silent.
