London, Feb 1 (IANS) Singer Peter Andre says his ex-wife Katie Price tried her best to reconcile last year but he turned her down.

The former couple, who raised Harvey, nine, Junior, six, and Princess Tiaamii, four, together, divorced in 2009. However, they decided to maintain an amicable relationship for their children.

“We decided to bury the hatchet and I was so happy we were talking about putting the kids first. But sadly it only lasted about a month. I don’t think it can ever happen again. I can’t be friends with her. It’s sad that three years on, the bitterness is still there,” contactmusic.com quoted the 38-year-old as saying.

“She may want me back, she did 100 percent ask me to get back together with her romantically. She wanted us to spend Christmas and New Year together but I won’t ever go there. All the stories about us getting back together are not true. I won’t ever go back,” he added.

Andre also says he just wants to move on with a new love and has his eye on Irish model Georgia Salpa.

“…For so long I wasn’t ready to make a commitment but I am now. I have reached the point where I want to settle down. Georgia is hot. She has said some nice things about me so we will see. I met her last week when I was at a business lunch and she is a very sweet girl from first impressions,” he added.
