Katie Price files complaint against TV channel
December 10th, 2010 - 1:45 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Dec 10 (IANS) Former model Katie Price has filed a complaint against a television channel after a comedian poked fun at her disabled son Harvey during his show.
Scottish comedian Frankie Boyle made several “offensive and hurtful” gags about eight-year-old Harvey during his “Tramadol Nights” show on Channel 4.
Disgusted by the comments, Price issued a statement blasting Boyle and threatening to take legal action if the broadcaster did not apologise. She has lodged an official complaint with broadcasting watchdog Ofcom after the channel bosses failed to appologise.
“Following our earlier statement, we are deeply saddened that despite requests, publicly-owned Channel 4 has not met the deadline for an apology over the deeply offensive and hurtful sexual comments it broadcast about Katie Price’s disabled son Harvey,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted her lawyer, Mark Bateman, as saying in a statement.
“Accordingly, on Katie Price’s instructions, we can confirm that we have had no option but to formally complain to Ofcom on Harvey Price’s behalf about the comments,” he added.
Harvey is Price’s son with former soccer star Dwight Yorke.
