December 4th, 2009 - 5:26 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )London, Dec 4 (ANI): Georgian/British singer Katie Melua had a brush with death when her breathing apparatus failed while she was diving.
The 25-year-old crooner is known for her love for extreme sports.
But her passion turned into a nightmare when air supply was cut off while she was diving in a lake near Heathrow Airport in west London.
‘Katie Melua went diving yesterday and had an ‘I’m about to die’ moment when her air supply was cut off, nearly drowning her. That girl!’ the Telegraph quoted Mike Batt, her collaborator, as writing on his Twitter account.
He later updated his page, writing: ‘Yep Katie is fine now, but she was really scared 15 metres underwater in a black lake, and breath apparatus failed. She loves a thrill, but…’
A spokeswoman for the singer said: ‘She had a fright but she is absolutely fine.’ (ANI)
