New York, Aug 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) TVNewser.com has reported that the name of former CBS news anchorwoman Katie Couric’s ABC show has been revealed. The program is expected to start airing in the fall of 2012. The report says the new show will simply be called “Katie.”

Katie left her show at CBS this year after the expiration of her contract with the network. Jeff Zucker who will be the executive producer of the show spoke about the name of the show in June. During the Promax/BDA conference, Zucker said that, “I think Katie is a unique brand in television. The mere fact that you can just say Katie and know who we are talking about is evidence of that.”

The success of Oprah Winfrey’s show “Oprah” is often attributed to the strong popularity of the name. It is believed that Katie was influenced by Oprah’s example. CNN’s Anderson Cooper will also come up with his signature show titled “Anderson” later in the year. Oprah pulled the plug of her highly successful show at the end of the 25th season of the show this year.

Katie is currently attached to ABC where she works as a contributor to the news program.
