Sep 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) With much felicity and fanfare the “Dancing with the Stars” season 11 contestants’ names were announced by ABC early this month during the “Bachelor Pad” show. The show is all set to return and hit the television screen today. However, a reputed media source reported that the anchor and managing editor of “CBS Evening News”, Katie Couric has expressed her desire to be a part of the “Dancing with the Stars” season 11.

The ABC officials previously announced that the upcoming season will sweep everyone off their with its powerhouse star-cast, which includes MTV reality show “Jersey Shore” star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, veteran singer Michael Bolton, “Cory In The House” star Kyle Massey, NFL footballer Kurt Warner, retired basketball player Rick Fox, “Knight Rider” fame David Hasseloff. The women line-up includes Jennifer Grey, singer Brandy, “The Brady Bunch” star Florence Henderson, Audrina Patridge, comedian Margaret Cho and Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol Palin. However,Katie Couric said at a function in New York that to be a contestant in the dance reality show is her secret “fantasy”.

When asked why she did not join the line-up of “Dancing with the Stars”, the American journalist said that the overtly revealing outfits that are donned by the contestants is not her cup of tea. On one hand she harbors the dream of joining the cast of “Dancing with the Stars”, while on the other hand she has expressed that she does not understand the reality TV format. She said that she does not understand the whole “genre” of reality series. In the end, she said that God loves them if they are willing to invite people into “every aspect” of their personal life.
