New York City, Feb 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 53 year old CBS Evening News Anchor – Katie Couric is dating a guy much younger than her, almost old enough to be her son. And for dating a 17 years younger guy, she is being labeled as ‘cougar’. She thinks that her ‘cougar label’ is downright stupid. “I think it also surmises that the older woman is always the pursuer. That’s not necessarily true. I always say that maybe the older woman is the prey and someone else is the predator. It’s just silly.”

She is dating Brooks Perlin, who is 17 years her junior. He was just 32 when they started going out. He is a New York City businessman, whereas Katie is a well-known face, on account of her being the CBS Evening News Anchor. She says that there are no logistical differences between them, despite their enormous age-gap, except for the fact that they are not married, and Brooks Perlin doesn’t have any children.

Katie has 2 daughters – the elder one is 18 years old Ellie, and the younger one is 14 years old Carrie. Her husband who was the attorney and the legal news analyst – Jay Monahan, died of cancer. He was just 42 years old when he died.
