Kathy Griffin still in D-list after Grammy win?
June 16th, 2009 - 8:21 pm ICT by GD ( Leave a comment )Kathy Griffin may have to look for a name change of her show’s title very soon. Griffin’s show on Bravo, “My Life on the D- List” is just not that anymore. The talented Griffin dishes out the most widely watched, most popular show on the Bravo network at present. In fact, the show’s season 5 premiere fetched for the Bravo network a record one million viewers on June 9th.
Kathy Griffin’s show therefore has reached the benchmark of being the highest rated original series on any network, ever. This was revealed after a research conducted by the Nielsen Media Research. The new season’s premiere also reached a double digit mark among adults in the age group 18- 49, which has climbed a notch higher than the season 4 premiere.
Griffin has won 2 Emmy awards for her show. She has also won a Grammy nomination for her 2008 comedy album, “For Your Consideration”. When she has her stand up comedy shows, it mostly turns out to be a major sell out. In September this year, her memoir will be published. With so much happening in her life and Griffin being on a topsy turvy ride to her way to stardom, can she still claim to be a D- lister anymore?
Now Griffin is making her utmost attempt to win the Grammy award. She is leaving no stones unturned in oder to gain her achievement. Griffin is flying all over the country, to Canada to seek the special favors of previous Grammy winners. Griffin is meeting comedy legend Lily Tomlin, one of the two women to win the Grammy for comedy album, to solicit her vote before the event.
