Oct.31 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Kathy Gloddy mystery was aired yesterday night, Oct. 30 on ABC network’s 20/20. The show featured the links between the man from Dixie County and the teenager Kathy Gloddy [and the trauma of the family following the mystery]. The mystery is finally about to be solved, after thirty eight years of the gruesome murder. Over the years, hopes of ever solving the case had diminished. However, new developments have brought back the hope in the lives of the family members of the murdered girl.

Kathy Gloddy was only thirteen years old when she was murdered. It was autumn, towards the end of November. Kathy had gone to the candy store near her home in New Hampshire along with her pet Tasha, a German Shepherd. Tasha had returned, but Kathy was not with her. Kathy’s family grew concerned when she didn’t return even after some time. The next day, her nude and mangled body was found in the woods, half a mile away from the house. She had been brutally raped and strangled to death. Her body had been run over several times.

There have been several attempts to solve the mystery, but not much was revealed. The officers reveal in the show that it was not the fault of the investigators or the police. It was just that the technology and equipment at that time weren’t as advanced as they are now. They insist that it would have been much easier to find the criminal, if the police had been equipped with the forensic technology and other things that are necessary to solve such cases back at that time. The case is now being solved as people are coming up and provide valuable information.
