Washington, Sept 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A judge has sentenced “Law and Order” star Kathryn Erbe’s stalker to five years probation. 37-year-old Charles Nagel was charged with stalking the star and he went all out in his bid to avoid going to jail.

When he appeared before the court, Nagel pleaded with the judge to have mercy on him as he wept. He told the court that he had no evil intentions towards the actress and her family. He claimed that “someone” was trying to use him as a scapegoat.

Nagel recently posted the photo of Kathryn’s youngest daughter on Facebook. The image had a cockroach on the face and the words “I’m ugly.” Nagel had also in the past targeted other members of Kathryn’s family with emails and letters.

Judge Jack Weinstein admitted that handing Nigel the maximum sentence will be too harsh. He said that, “The defendant is a troubled person with serious psychiatric problems requiring continuing treatment and supervision.”

The judge added that he gave the sentence after considering that Nagel has already spent 115 days in jail. He has also been 380 days under house arrest. He was ordered to pay the Kathryn’s legal cost to her.

Nagel reportedly started harassing the family of Kathryn after she refused to give him a hug and an autograph.
