Katherine Jenkins rejects pleas to sing at Labour conference
October 3rd, 2009 - 1:26 pm ICT by ANILondon, Oct 3 (ANI): British classical artist Katherine Jenkins declined repeated invitations by Labour to sing at their party conference, it has emerged.
It is reported that even senior party leaders approached the Neath-born mezzo-soprano to perform at the event but the their requests were turned down saying the award-winning star was busy.
The Telegraph quoted the rep for Jenkins as saying: “She keeps her politics to herself, and prefers to keep it to the voting booth…. Katherine was already doing a whole day of programmes for Welsh radio stations that day.” (ANI)
