Los Angeles, Feb 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Deadline reports that Halle Berry has dropped out of playing the lead role in “New Year’s Eve”.

The role will now be taken over by Katherine Heigl according to the report. Coincidentally, Katherine also recently dropped out of a movie, “Adaline”.

The report failed to explain why Berry dropped out of the movie but Katherine’s rep explained to Deadline that she dropped out of “Adaline” because of her adopted child. Deadline’s report says the rep thinks the schedule of “New Year’s Eve” was more flexible and as such she wouldn’t have any problems doing it. The report further said Katherine was the initial actress that the producers spoke to but they failed to reach a deal.

The movie is star-packed. Jon Bon Jovi is on the list of the cast that would be playing roles in the movie. According to the film’s plot, Jon Bon will fall in love with Katherine and then fall off love with her. However towards the end of the movie, the pair will fall in love again.

The movie will also have Robert DeNiro, Ice Cube, Ryan Seacrest, Zac Effron, Sarah Jessica Parker and other hosts of stars. Garry Marshall is the director of the movie.
