Los Angeles, Mar 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actress Katherine Heigl who used to portray the character of Dr. Izzie Stevens on the show Grey’s Anatomy, is bidding adieu to the show. She has reportedly been released from her contract. The primary reason for releasing her from the show, might have been because of her long hiatus from the show.

The creator of the show – Shonda Rhimes was very upset with the actress, as she has been absent from the show for a long time now. In the current season also, she has taken a break to shoot a movie, and to also spend some quality time with her husband Josh Kelley and his adopted daughter Nancy Leigh. She has been notorious for being absent from the show at every conceivable opportunity. It was also reported that she was supposed to be back on the sets, on the 1st of March 2010, to wrap up the 5 remaining episodes of the show, but she didn’t turn up. Finally the creator of the show and the producers had no option, but to release her from her contract.

However there are sources that say that she is ready to come back on the sets and fulfill her part of the contract, but other sources say that the things are more complicated than that, and now both the production house and the actress have decided to amicably part ways.
