Katherine Heigl gets emotional on Tonight Show
May 29th, 2010 - 6:25 pm ICT by Pen Men At WorkMay 29, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): In an interview on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, actress Katherine Heigl got emotional while talking about her late brother. Heigl was almost on the verge of tears after expressing her sadness over the death of her older brother Jason, in a car accident years ago.
Heigl said that she does not want to sound over-sentimental but her brother’s death badly affected her family. She told Leno that she was too young to understand the grief but now that she is a mother herself she understands how much it hurts to lose a child.
Heigl who is married to singer Josh Kelly and the couple had adopted a baby girl from South Korea in 2009. She said now that she herself is a mother she knows the intense urge mothers have to keep their children safe.
Heigl, best known for her portrayal of Dr. Izzie Stevens on medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, is currently promoting her latest film Killers in which she co-stars with Ashton Kutcher.
In 2007, she starred in Knocked Up and earned a salary of $300,000 USD. She later appeared in 27 Dresses along with James Marsden and The Ugly Truth co-starring Gerard Butler. Heigl has also gained popularity as a cover model appearing on numerous publications including Maxim, Vanity Fair and Cosmopolitan.
