May 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “Grey’s Anatomy” star Katherine Heigl got all emotional at the “Tonight Show” with Jay Leno while discussing her adoptive child and the experiences and feeling that the child has dawned in the life of the actress. Katherine Heigl who adopted a Korean-born girl Naleigh last September got choked with tears while she shared her personal family struggle and the new found happiness in her child who according to her has been “beautifully perfect” since she and her husband Josh Kelly adopted her.

According to Katherine Heigl the emotion of motherhood had slowly dawned onto her. According to her, though initially she loved Naleigh and was very protective about her baby, it was driven by her sense of duty that she should keep the child happy and protected. However, the duty turned slowly into a feeling that is “overpowering and overwhelming”. Katherine Heigl was choked with tears when she said that she had recently told to her mother that she could have never understood what her mother went through when her brother died 20 years ago, if she did not become a mother herself. Katherine Heigl said “This is so awful, I’m sorry” as she could not control her tears and went on to say that now she feels an overwhelming need to keep Naleigh safe.

As for Naleigh, according to Katherine Heigl she is a perfect baby who is “super independent”. She plays by herself for hours but according to Katherine Heigl for the last two days she has been demanding constant attention from her parents. It seems that Katherine Heigl is enjoying every moment of her motherhood.
