Jan 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Katey Sagal, was nominated as in the best actress in a television series category. However, at that time she had no clue that she would emerge as the final winner and take the trophy back home, especially when the competition was quite cut throat, with other competitive nominees like Julianna Margulies for “The Good Wife” and Kyra Sedgwick for “The Closer”.

Katey Sagal, while receiving the award said that she was too shocked, but she was also prepared for it. No wonder, the conviction with which she plays the tough matriarch in “Sons Of Anarchy”, winning this wards was quite inevitable. The creator of “Son Of Anarchy”, is none other than her husband, Kurt Sutter. While taking the award, she thanked her husband. She said “Sweetheart I Love You”, she also added that she is too glad for having her husband as her boss. Perhaps the presence of Kurt Sutter, all the time in the sets, enhanced her confidence and comfort level while shooting and that is what contributes to her wonderful performance. Later on in the back stage moment, she said that her husband is extremely happy with her victory, and winning this wards is not only an honor for her but also the show. Katey Sagal added that she wants to give this award to him, and wants to see what he does with it. The actress was extremely proud to hold the award, but pertained her victory to none other than her husband.

However, insiders from the industry said that Kurt Sutter refused to get nominated for the Academy awards, and thereby reduced its chances of adding yet another achievement to the show. The two other actresses whom she superseded were, Piper Perabo for “Covert Affair” and Elisabeth Moss for “Man Men”.
