Kate Winslet Spotted without Her Wedding Ring

March 29, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Multiple award winner English actress Kate Winslet was seen without her shinny wedding ring in New York. About a week and half ago, the actress and director, Sam Mendes, announced that they were going to split.
Winslet met Mendes in 2001 when later approached her for a theater project and married him in 2003 on the island of Anguilla in the Caribbean. They have a son Joe Alfie Winslet Mendes, who was born in December 2003 in New York. Winslet has a nine year old daughter Mia from a previous marriage with then assistant director Jim Threapleton, whom she met on the set of Hideous kinky.
Winslet announced earlier this month that she and Sam Mendes had called it quits on their marriage of seven years.In a statement, a UK law firm said the split was “entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children.”
Despite her breakup, Kate is keeping busy with work - production is scheduled to begin next month in New York City on Mildred Pierce, a new HBO miniseries directed by Todd Haynes.
Winslet and Mendes now seem to have joined the uncanny long list of couples who got separated after a win at Academy Awards.
