Kate Winslet didnt mind looking like an old hag in The ReaderDecember 30th, 2008 - 5:02 pm ICT by ANI
London, Dec 30 (ANI): Kate Winslet has revealed that she did not flutter an eyelid when she was offered the role of a wrinkled, overweight pensioner in the film, The Reader.
The Hamlet actress went for a complete makeover for her Nazi war criminal screen character.
I didnt mind looking in the mirror and seeing myself as an old hag! It gave extra dimension to the character, The Daily Express quoted Kate, as saying.
Although Kate didnt mind going for the older look in The Reader, she revealed that the ageing process for the flick was nothing less than an ordeal.
The make-up was very difficult to wear and really uncomfortable. It was on the teeth, eyeballs, hands, feet and body, and it took seven-and-a-half hours to put on, Kate said. (ANI)
