Los Angeles, Mar 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Titanic actress Kate Winslet has split from her husband Sam Mendes. The London based law firm – Shillings, said that the amicable split happened earlier this year, but refused to give a more precise time frame, about it. It is also not known if the legalities of the split have begun, or they are still in the pipeline. The Oscar winner Kate Winslet and the noted director Sam Mendes got married in 2003, and also have a son together.

The law firm said in a statement to the media that the split was “entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children”.

Prior to marrying Sam Mendes, she was also married to director Jim Threapleton for 3 years, (1998 to 2001.) They also have a daughter together.

Kate Winslet is one of the finest actresses of her generation, and she attained stardom with her performance in Titanic. She has been nominated for the Academy Awards 6 times for Titanic, Sense and Sensibility, Iris, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Little Children and also won it for her beautiful performance in The Reader in 2009.
