Aug 13 (IBNS) Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Kate Gosselin was having tough time in controlling her tears when questioned by Regis Philbin during the pre-taping of “Live With Regis & Kelly”.

Kate’s interview will be aired today (Thursday).

Asked if Kate would mull reconciling with her husband Jon Gosselin, Kate said: I can’t and won’t answer that. I keep certain things private, and that’s one.

The host voiced his opinion: I think you [and your husband] will get back together and live happily ever after. I think everything is going to work itself out — he’ll say he’s sorry, that he loves you and everything will be good.

This left Kate shocked and teary-eyed.

An audience revealed: The only thing that seemed to be holding Kate together was Kelly Ripa. They really clicked — you could tell Kelly was completely sympathetic. Kate seemed so down. Even during the break, she appeared to be on the verge of tears.”

A shocked Kate had no response as the show cut to a commercial break.

Later in the interview, Kate confessed her hope that she and Jon can get past their animosity, despite his recent extracurricular activities.

The 32-year-old has squired wild child Hailey Glassman and former tabloid reporter Kate Major — and last weekend, reports surfaced that he’d spent the night with a 23-year-old baby-sitter who’d been caring for his kids. Regardless, Kate said her goal is to enjoy holidays and family time together again — unmarried.
