On Monday, newly single mom Kate Gosselin made her first appearance on television, putting an end to the brief sabbatical from media, that she had addressed herself to. As this was her first interview since her marriage to Jon Gosselin broke up some weeks ago, it was evident that a lot of tears were shed on the sets of the “Today Show.”

A teary eyed Kate looked visibly grasping to retain composure while on the talk show. She explained in details why she is still seen sporting the wedding band on her finger. The “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ star said it was to make things easy for the adorable “8″, as they go through the difficult patch of the divorce.

As she broke down on screen, Kate was heard telling, “Sorry, I don’t want to upset them (the kids). I don’t want to shock them.”

Kate addressed different issues while talking in the show, moving from the topic of Jon’s latest romantic escapades to her alleged romantic links to her bodyguard. She even rebuked her brother Kevin Krieder and his wife Jodi, who have been criticizing her publicly, stating that the kids are being exploited because of the media exposure.

Though she admitted that she was upset on hearing about Jon dating the 22 year old Hailey Glassman, who is the daughter of the surgeon who had performed the liposuction on her abdomen region, Kate did not shed any tears on the issue.

Kate steadfastly denied being involved in a romantic relation with her bodyguard Steve Neild, saying, “There’s no affair. There never has been an affair. We are very good friends with him, his wife and family.”
