Los Angeles, April 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Kara DioGuardi’s new memoir “A Helluva High Note” speaks about the molestation that she suffered while she was a young girl. The memoir revealed that Kara suffered sexual molestation at the hands of a family friend when she was just 11 years.

The former American Idol judge was hurt that her mother never stood up against the sexual abuse that she suffered. According to the 40-year-old, her mother was a staunch Christian with the Catholic faith. Kara’s mother was a virgin when she got married, the memoir revealed. Kara said issues like sex and other such things were not discussed in their house.

She was able to confront her mother on the issue before she died. She admitted that her mother probably didn’t know how to handle the whole issue. Unfortunately that is not the only sexual abuse that Kara has suffered in her life. The singer/songwriter revealed for the first time that she was date-raped in 2000.

She did not name the person but revealed that the person was a music producer. She kept the whole issue to herself because she didn’t want to be stigmatized.
