Kara DioGuardi to make Broadway debut with ‘Chicago’

The songwriter has been given the task to appear in the musical show “Chicago.” Several stars have in the past taken the stage playing the role of Roxie Hart.
Chicago is a top Broadway show and it has in the past has won Tony Awards. The show was first opened in 1996 and it has become the fifth longest running Broadway show in the history of the US theaters. Kara will play the role of Roxie in the musical. Roxie is the major character in the show and the character has over the years been played by host of stars.
During a published interview in USA TODAY, Kara said that, “They called me, and I auditioned. The dancing is a problem for me, because I’m not a trained dancer. So I just worked my butt off. It probably took me a week to get the dancing down for the audition.”
Kara is famous for her role in the show American Idol. She currently has a deal with Bravo to be a judge on their new reality show “Platinum Hit.” The show airs every Monday on the network. Kara recently appeared on the show “Live! With Regis and Kelly.”
