Kannada film body resolves actress slapping incident
December 12th, 2009 - 7:27 pm ICT by IANSBangalore, Dec 12 (IANS) The controversy over the slapping incident involving actress Aindrita Ray has been resolved with the intervention of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), an official said Saturday.
Reacting to complaints made by Ray, who had charged director Nagathihalli of slapping her during a shoot abroad, the KFCC called a meeting of all related parties Friday evening.
The meeting was held after the inauguration of the Kannada Film Producers Association building and was attended by the representatives of Kannada Artists Association including actor Ambareesh, Doddanna and many film producers.
Nagathiahlli has reportedly expressed his regret over the incident and both him and Ray have been advised to work together to complete the film.
Speaking to mediapersons after the meeting, KFCC president Jayamala said that Nagathihalli had admitted that he had slapped Aindrita Ray after getting angry with her attitude towards work.
“We don’t approve of such behaviour from a well known and educated director like Nagathihalli,” Jayamala said.
