Bangalore, Aug 2 (IANS) Two big hits and now a Filmfare award, Kannada actress Radhika Pandit is certainly going places and she says she will always try to live up to the expectations of her fans by doing good films.
Radhika won best actress Filmfare Award for her performance in her debut Kannada movie “Moggina Manasu”, which is directed by Shashank. The film that got rave reviews for its fresh concept and good performances from artists won five Filmfare awards, including for best director.
“The function was held on Saturday night at Hyderabad and I was just in a philosophical mood at the function - I told myself that even a nomination was the best thing that had happened to my career. But when my name was announced, I was just ecstatic. I was really thrilled when I went to the rostrum to receive the award. I was so excited that I don’t remember what had happened at that moment on stage,” Radhika told IANS.
Radhika’s “Love Guru” too got an overwhelming response at the box office and she also received accolades for her performance from the critics.
After the film’s success, she toured places like Shimoga, Davanagere and Hubli with the team of “Love Guru”.
“The response was terrific in all the places where we went. We interacted with the audiences. We also addressed press meets in Shimoga, Davanagere and Hubli,” said Radhika.
Recently, some of her ardent fans got together to launch a website, which is dedicated to her. But Radkhika says she was unaware about it.
“I am told that some of my fans have launched a website, but I have not seen it yet. The news came as a surprise to me. When I got the news from a reporter who also gave me the address of the website, I was a little curious as well as happy. I hope my fans will always support me and I promise that I will do only those do roles that excite me and are different,” said Radhika whose “Olave Jeevana Lekkachara” too did well.
Directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekhars, the film is about gullible youngsters who spoil their life on account of intellectual discourse and indoctrination.
Radhika’s hands are full. She has just signed a new film “Kaddu Muchchi” to be directed by Dayal Padmanaghan. She will be paired with Diganth in it.
There are also reports that director Shashank is considering her for his next film, which will go on floors in October and Ajay Kumar will play male lead in it.
