Kangana-Madhavan film shoot stopped in Punjab
May 15th, 2010 - 10:28 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Kapurthala, May 15 (IANS) Shooting of the Kangana Ranaut-Madhavan starrer “Tannu Weds Mannu”, planned in a mosque in this Punjab town, was cancelled after protests by the local residents, police said.
According to the officials, the shooting of the movie was planned inside a mosque here but was cancelled on the orders of Kapurthala deputy commissioner Rajkamal Chaudhary.
“Members of the film unit had started installing the sets inside the mosque Friday night. On seeing this, members of Muslim community gathered outside the mosque and started raising slogans against the administration and the filmmakers,” said a police official.
“They threatened to interrupt the shooting as it would allegedly affect their religious sentiments.”
“Tannu Weds Mannu” stars Kangana Ranaut, Madhvan and Jimmy Shergill. It is produced by Shailesh Singh and is directed by Anand Malhotra.
