Feb 2, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Kamban– the immortal entity of Indian literature is well known for his extraordinary epic “Ramayanam’. Deeply inspired by this personality, debutant Muralisamy has named his film’s protagonist with the same name with an overpowering characterization.
The film “Kamban’ features debutant Pradeep, a student of Koothupattarai and Punjabi speaking Navarathna performs lead role while ace actress Ramya Krishnan, Suman, Saran Raj and Kota Srinivasa Rao take on vital roles.
The film centers on an aspiring youngster striving to offer free and quality education to the children belonging to poor and underprivileged classes. Says Muralisamy: “Many years ago, the entire state of Tamil Nadu had free education to all children from financially instable family background. But today, most of the educational institutions have become a sort of business where the proprietors are focused on earning money and not offering education.”
Newcomer Johan has scored music to the lyrics of Na. Muthukumar, Arivumathi and Yugabharathy. Guna has cranked the camera with Shekar and Ranjees Chandrasekhar are handling the editing.
