Washington, Dec 15 (ANI): Kevin Federline’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan has blasted the rappers ex-wife Britney Spears for her last-minute cancellation of her deposition testimony, by threatening to ask the court to address some kind of remedy against her.

Spears didn’t show up to testify at Kaplan’s office as scheduled, and the attorney later told reporters that the pop stars lawyers told him she wasn’t feeling well.

However, Britney was photographed later that day out with a friend.

Kaplan said that he would ask for remedies against the pop star for calling in sick to her court-ordered deposition.

“I’m not mad I can move forward with her or without her. But there will be a request to the court to address some kind of remedy to what I see as a willful non-appearance,” People quoted Kaplan, as saying.

“But she was in fact out later that day and night. Its not fourth grade where you get a doctor’s note and it’s all OK. She was ordered to attend. And if there’s a legitimate reason for her not to attend she would have to establish that,” Kaplan said.

As for the reason that paparazzi harassment keeps Spears from attending, Kaplan said: “All I know is that in my office there were no paparazzi.”

Kaplan also pointed out that this was the fourth time when the singer has missed the deposition appointment.

“This deposition was a court ordered proceeding. So it’s a serious thing.”

As far as remedies, K-Feds attorney ruled out seeking a contempt of court.

“We’re not interest in punishing her. We’re interested in getting facts,” he said.
He said he seeks to have Spears shoulder the cost for the missed deposition but would not specifically cite other options under consideration. (ANI)
