Justin Timberlake Announces Golden Globe Nominations 2010

Dec 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Golden Globe Nominations for the year 2010 have been unveiled yesterday at the Beverley Hills Hotel. Justin Timberlake announced the nominations for the 67th Golden Globe Award in his unique style. To add little humor to the announcement, he included an ‘impromptu drumroll’ and some witty jokes.
According to the reports, the much hyped movie ‘Avatar’ has been nominated for the Golden Globe Awards in the category of Best Motion Picture. Apart from this, ‘The Hurt Locker’, ‘Up In The Air’, Precious: Based On The Novel Push By Sapphire’ and ‘Inglorious Basterds’ were nominated in the same category. ‘Avatar’ movie is not only a great competitor in the Best Film category but also it has been nominated in the category of Best Original Song and Best Original Soundtrack. James Cameron, the director of the film has been nominated for Best Director.
Like every year, this year too, Golden Globe Nominations include five films in foreign language. The nominees for the Best Foreign Language Film are, ‘The Maid’, ‘The White Ribbon’, ‘A Prophet’, ‘Broken Embraces’ and ‘Barria’. Golden Globe Awards not only honors the motion pictures for their outstanding works but also recognizes several television series, which are praiseworthy. As per the reports, the television network, HBO has received 17 nominations, which is the maximum number of nominations for any network this year. ‘Big Love’, ‘House M.D.’, ‘True Blood’, ‘Dexter’ and ‘Mad Men’ have been nominated for Golden Globe Awards Best Television Series- Drama. Though the Golden Globe nominations have been declared, people will have to wait till January 17, 2010, to know the winners’ list.
