Los Angeles, Aug 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Monday, the jury questioning in the drug conspiracy case of Anna Nicole Smith’s is scheduled to begin. The Supreme Court Judge Robert Perry has said that he hopes that a panel of jurors will be selected in two days time. It is only after the jury is selected that the drug conspiracy case trial that involves the lawyer-boyfriend of late Anna Nicole Smith and two doctors would be heard by the jury. The prospective jurors will be questioned on everything starting from their own medical histories to their feelings and thoughts on the charges.
However, Judge Robert Perry said to media sources that he is disappointed with the response that he received from the prospective jurors over the case. According to him, although the questionnaires filled out by the prospective jurors point out that most of them have an idea about the life and manner of death of Anna Nicole Smith; it also showed that their ideas are restricted to what they saw on television. Robert Perry pointed out that the prospective jurors need to have much more knowledge of the case before they can be selected for the trail of Dr. Khristine Eroshevich, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor and Howard K. Stern. The Opening statements on the selected jury are scheduled for Wednesday.
On the part of the defendants, both the doctors have pleaded not guilty to the conspiracy. They have maintained that they did not provide late Anna Nicole Smith with massive quantity of sedatives and opiates. The three are not charged in the model’s drug overdose death case and Judge Robert Perry mentioned clearly that he would not entertain testimony about the cause of the death of Anna Nicole Smith as it is in no way related to it.
