Jungle Boogie Was Performed By The Dance Toupe In The FedEx Orange Bowl

orangeJan 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Torrie Marie School of Dance’s UpTempo Dance Company was overwhelmed with the news, when they got a call to perform in the FedEx Orange Bowl, during the half time show for Tuesday’s match. The dance troupe performed along with the well-known R&B-funk group Kool & the Gang at Land Shark Stadium. Leah Taylor, who is just ten years old and a part of the troupe was absolutely elated after hearing the news. The very popular and the hit Jungle Boogie was performed by the dance troupes along with other top numbers like ‘Celebration,’ ‘Get Down On It’ and the like.

The songs were choreographed by Cris Judd, who was the instructor at the convention and also the lead choreographer for the half time show. The dance troupes, in order to entertain the crowds, put up a brilliant show where there was a nice blend of hip-hop and Jazz funk. The dance troupes toiled very hard to get their moves right and the practice went on for more than a month before the actual show. The match between Iowa and Georgia Tech at the FedEx Orange Bowl was heightened with the added bonus of the great performance exhibited by the Dance Troupes.

The famous funk song of the Kool & the Gang, Jungle Boogie, from their 1973 album ‘Wild and Peaceful’ was one of the main songs that the dance troupes gave their best to, in order entertain the noisy crowd at the Land Shark Stadium. Jungle Boogie, which became a nightclub favorite, sung by the band member Don Boyce, swayed the crowd along with other popular hits.
