London, Dec 27 (IANS) Dame Judi Dench has urged her fans to go green this festive season and is leading a campaign to encourage the British public to recycle used Christmas cards.
The Oscar winner has teamed up with conservation charity Woodland Trust to launch a new drive which will see special card recycling trash cans installed in shops across her native Britain throughout January.

The scheme would also fund the planting of new trees. After ditching their unwanted cards, participants can log online and choose an area where they would like to see more saplings placed, reports imdb.com.

“We all enjoy giving and receiving Christmas cards, well thanks to the Woodland Trust there is the chance for a second giving and receiving opportunity this year. I would like to challenge people to give to the environment, recycle their cards and then receive trees for their environment by going to www.woodlandtrust.org/cards and choosing where the new trees generated by this year’s recycling should be planted,” she said.
