London, Oct 17 (ANI): Lindsay Lohan may face jail if she does not attend compulsory alcohol rehab due after her drink-driving charges, a judge has warned.
In 2007, Lohan had admitted to charges of being under the influence of coke and had not contested drunken driving charges following which the court had ordered her to attend an 18-month program on alcohol education.
She also had to spend 24 hours in jail and perform 10 days of community service while she was on probation for 36 months.
However, the probation report found that the 23-year-old actress had not attended the alcohol counselling sessions.
Los Angeles Superior Court was told that her three-year probation had been furthered by another year after she had not completed the alcohol education program due to a busy work schedule.
The Telegraph quoted Judge Marsha Revel as warning Lohan: “This is the last time we are going to be talking about re-enrolling and doing what you need to do.
“This has to be a top priority.
“I would love to congratulate you rather than admonish you.”
Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley told that court that she had finished 15 of the 26 individual alcohol sessions, half the group classes, 13 of 28 self-help sessions and all six education classes.
The court was also requested to extend Lohan’s probation, as she had not been able to complete her substance abuse treatment program.
However the judge said: “Anytime you request a leave of absence for more than 21 days, you must get court approval,” she said.
“If you don’t do that, the deputy district attorney will be asking for jail time.”
The judge permitted Lohan to go to New York next week for a charity function and but cautioned her about leaving the state or the country.
She said: “I’m going to know about it because your whole life is followed.”
Lohan has been asked to appear in court for another progress hearing in mid-December. (ANI)
