London, Dec 17 (IANS) British actor Jude Law has revealed he used to regret changing his name from David, because he was often mistaken for a girl.
The star, who was born David Law, began using his famous moniker as a stage name when he enrolled with a youth drama group in London in the 1980s, reports fashion.ie.
Law admits he had to toughen up because his feminine name would often lead to confusion.
“(I was) assigned to the girls’ dormitories and sleeping quarters when I was a teenager and I joined the National Youth Music Theatre. Someone took a look at my name and clearly thought, ‘It has to be a girl.’ How wrong can you get?” he said.
