Juanes to record acoustic music special for MTV
December 7th, 2011 - 12:10 pm ICT by IANSMiami, Dec 7 (IANS/EFE) Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes will take the stage in February on MTV Unplugged to record an album live, the Tr3s cable network said Tuesday.
“This means everything to me - it’s going back to my core, the basics, the essence and rawness of my music,” Juanes said in a press release from Tr3s: MTV, Musica y Mas.
Juan Luis Guerra will be the musical director of the concert and the producer of the album as the Colombian requested, while other special guests will be announced during the coming weeks.
“Juanes’ vocals and performances are better than ever! The Unplugged stage will be the perfect space to discover the intimacy of his music,” Guerra said.
The Juanes MTV Unplugged special will be recorded in February 2012 at the New World Center in Miami Beach, Tr3s said.
With global sales of more than 15 million, Juanes was named Latin Music’s “Star of the Decade”, won a Grammy and has won 17 Latin Grammys.
