Jose Andres Appears On ‘Top Chef’

20080521-topchef2Aug 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The latest episode of ‘Top Chef’ featured two celebrity gust judges and one of them was the well known Spanish chef and TV personality Jose Andres. The soft spoken and encouraging chef, however, failed to say anything positive about the food that was served to him on the show. He joined Marcus Samuelson in the elimination round and was served by Alex. He described the food as a nightmare and also did not approve of the way it looked.

In the Elimination round of ‘Top Chef’, the contestants were asked to prepare a dish based on one of the foreign embassies in Washington DC. The food was to be judged by one of the people who represented the country. Jose Andres, who represented Spain was served Spanish cuisine by Alex. The judge criticized the food for not just the taste but also the aesthetic appeal.

Jose Andres became a household name after he launched his own TV show called ‘Made in Spain’. He is also known to be the man behind introduction of the small plate dining concept into America. He started career under a famous restaurant in Spain. Presently he owns number of restaurants in Washington DC with his partner company THINKfoodGROUP. Earlier this year he was seen demonstrating molecular gastronomy techniques on the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’. He will also be teaching the students of Harvard culinary physics alongside Ferran Adria. Jose Andres is also the author of a number of recipe books that teach Spanish cooking. Jose Andres is presently serving as the resident culinary expert on MSN Lifestyle.
