London, July 26 (ANI): Jordans Queen Rania has set up her own YouTuve channel to challenge Western stereotypes about Islam and to warn youth from her country against extremism.

Ranias channel has videos featuring Arab comics, singers and herself posted every week.

It has already proved to be a hit, getting a millions viewers since it was launched in spring.

The Queen reveals that she has been surprised by some of the queries that constantly come up on YouTube, which she described as a great platform for spreading messages, reports The Telegraph.

“I”ve been surprised by some of the questions that I”ve been asked about the Arab world and Middle East - Do all Arabs hate Americans? Can Arab women work? Are there any YouTubers in Jordan?”, she says in one clip.

“YouTube is a great platform for dialogue and I believe we need to use that platform to get our message out there.”

In a broadcast interview last week she added: “I do feel that our world is in a bit of a crisis at the moment, violence has overtaken dialogue and compassion has lost out to anger. I”m hoping this will become a channel of communication between east and west because I very much think our world is in dire need of that.”

Ranias video clips will be posted each week until International Youth Day next month. (ANI)
