Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ drunken rant at French copsJune 24th, 2009 - 6:07 pm ICT by ANI
Washington, June 24 (ANI): Jonathan Rhys Meyers has apparently gone back to his hard-boozing ways, for the actor recently confronted French police in a drunken state.
Cops at Paris’ Charles DeGaulle airport allegedly handcuffed the ‘Tudors’ actor after he challenged them to a brawl, as he was preparing to fly out of the country.
British tabloid The Sun reported that the star threw wads of euros at the officials and bragged of his wealth, before shouting: “You wanna hit me? Hit me!”
However, Rhys Meyers was released from police custody after several hours pending further investigations.
Jonathan has struggled with maintaining sobriety since a 2005 stint in rehab, reports Contactmusic.
The shambolic scene is reminiscent of the star’s run-in with police at Dublin airport in 2007, when he was arrested and charged with being drunk and disorderly.
The charges were later dropped. (ANI)
