Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert renew their contracts with ‘Comedy Central’

daily1 New York City, Apr 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have renewed their contracts with the ‘Comedy Central’. Jon Stewart would be now a part of the Comedy Central family till June 2013. He is the host of ‘The Daily Show’, which is a half-hour show, which is telecast late at night. It is a parody show, which is telecast on the weeknights. It is basically a show that talks about politics and it would undoubtedly cover the 2012 US Presidential elections as well, which would be something to look forward too.

Jon Stewart is going to continue as the producer, writer and the host of the show. Jon has been nominated for five Emmy awards. And his show has won the Peabody Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting, not once but twice. Besides this the show has won a record 32 awards. The show won seven awards in a row for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series and six awards for Outstanding Writing

Stephen Colbert is the host of ‘The Colbert Report’ which is a half hour show bordering on political satire. Stephen’s contract has been renewed till the end of 2012. However in both the cases, the financial matters of the contract were not disclosed to the media.
