jon2Feb 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jon Stewart was the guest in “The O’Reilly Factor” on Thursday. The interview had taken place in two parts, one being aired on Wednesday, and the other on Thursday. Of course, it was being touted as two of the greatest episodes to have ever been aired in “The O’Reilly Factor,” with both the media giants coming face to face in the show for almost after six years. Needless to say, the interview was highly entertaining, for it is always great to watch two people of diametrically opposite views and equally sharp wit and tongues coming together.

Of course, “The O’Reilly Factor” was turned into a veritable battlefield on Thursday, despite the fact that Jon Stewart had been introduced by Bill O’Reilly, the host, as “our pal.” The sarcasm was not lost on anyone, and as soon as the two took their seats, there ensued the most delightful and intelligent war of words. At one point, when Bill O’Reilly made out as if to touch his guest, Jon Stewart recoiled, commenting that his host seemed to have “Ali’s reach.”

Conspicuous underneath all the jokes and all the fun was some very serious discussion about the political situation of the country, carried over from the previous day’s discussion on the political measures taken by President Barack Obama. The interview also covered a varied assortment of topics, including the situation in Iraq, not to mention the most controversial global warming. Surprisingly, Jon Stewart took a rather flippant view of the Nigerian bomber, saying it had taken the terrorists eight years to come up with such a hare-brained plan.
