Jon Stewart Accepts An Extension Of His Contract

daily1 April 21, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Jon Stewart’s mounting reputation might have made a lot of individuals imagine that he would move on from The Daily Show on Comedy Central to advance his status. However, it has been divulged that Stewart will stay with Comedy Central for at least three more years. Stewart has approved a contract expansion that will keep him hosting The Daily Show till June 2013.

Stewart became the host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central in early 1999. He is also the writer and co-executive producer of the show. After Stewart enrolled himself in the show, The Daily Show gradually attained fame and critical commendation. The Daily Show has been nominated for a number of news and journalism-related awards. He acquired an Emmy Award in 2001.

Stewart commenced his career as a stand-up comedian but later joined television, hosting Short Attention Span Theater for Comedy Central. He went on to host his own show on MTV, called The Jon Stewart Show. He then hosted another program on MTV called You Wrote It, You Watch It. He has also had numerous film roles as an actor. He hosted the 78th and 80th Academy Awards. He co-authored America (The Book): A Citizen’s Guide to Democracy Inaction, which was one of the best-selling tomes in the US in 2004.
