Jon Bon Jovi with his namesake band ‘Bon Jovi’ broke into the scene in 1983 with the album ‘Runaway’. Since then this boy from New Jersey had moved from the blue collared place to become a global icon in the music industry. Nearing 50, the man with his band still rules the music charts.
But even now when he wishes to bring out an album that’s close to his heart he has to sign a deal and obey the orders of the record company. The frontman of ‘Bon Jovi’ revealed that the latest offering ‘Greatest Hits’ is the result of such a deal. Jon told the Daily Star that he wanted to do an album on country music and the CEO of the record company told him that when Jovi’s country album loses money would they be allowed to release the Greatest Hits album of the singer and the band.
So he agreed with the deal but when he is quizzed about what makes him and his band still be on the top of their game? The reply from the hitmaker “It’s My Life” is that they still do what they believe in and love to. Though as a band they have come a long way from spandex wearing young folks to making music that’s more socially relevant, but the singer feel that he is still the New Jersey boy who wants to do something good for his place.
Jon has his own foundation called Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation that helps on building houses for the poor of New Jersey. Now the man has just got another feather on his cap for his charity work, he has been named as one of the members of the White House Council on Community Solutions, by the President Obama.
