New York City, Dec 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) This will sure come as a sad bit of news for all the avid viewers of ‘Jon & Kate Plus Eight’. The dream couple who had a big brood of 8 children are now divorced. They had filed for divorce in June and it has now been finalized.

Judge Arthur Tilson of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas finalized the divorce of the celebrity couple on Friday, and with this the couple’s 10 year-marriage came to an end. It was filed as a no-fault divorce.

“Kate’s thrilled. It’s always an emotional mix when a party gets divorced, and this case is no exception,” said Mark Momjian, the attorney for Kate, who was not in court when the divorce was finalized. He also said that as soon as the divorce decree was entered, he spoke with Kate to give her the good news. According to him, she was happy and relieved also that the whole ordeal is finally over and behind her now.

However there was no comment at all from Jon Gosselin or his attorney.

The network on which the reality show ‘Jon & Kate Plus Eight’ airs, says that it is looking forward to start making a new show that is bereft of Jon Gosselin and focuses only on Kate and the 8 kids now. The network in September announced it would change the name to “Kate Plus Eight,” which resulted in angry accusations from Jon that TLC was not living up to its commitment to him.
