This is a fairy tale story coming to a very sad ending and very predictable ending. “Jon & Kate Plus 8” stars Jon and Kate are going in for a divorce, and this time the news is official. On Monday night, the couple made their ‘life changing decision’ announcement on the show. The couple will be going their separate ways after being married for 10 years. This is going to spell doomsday for the TLC show; with the Gosselin family falling apart, there will be no one to carry on with their “Jon & Kate Plus 8″. The saddest part of the whole deal is that, we are going to miss the kids a lot.

The PEOPLE magazine had already spoiled the Monday night episode’s announcement by reporting that the two were filing for divorce, so the effect of the ‘big announcement’ was marred a little. This was a very predictable outcome, as speculations have been rife surrounding their relationship for months. The couple has not been on a steady path following reports of alleged adultery that was leaked by the media. Both Kate and Jon has been accused of cheating on each other; Kate was allegedly having an affair with her bodyguard and Jon was caught philandering with 23 year old kindergarten teacher Deanna Hummel in May,this year.

Moreover, on Kate’s birthday, Jon was consciously absent from the celebration, which highlighted the extent to which the relationship had soured between them. Since then, almost regularly, they have been appearing on their show individually and had not shown any ways of reconciling. A very teary eyed Kate said that, “Parents of multiples have triple the divorce rate. I was thinking we were going to beat that. I don’t know if I can say that anymore.”
