New York, Mar 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Last year the death of Stephen Gately and Michael Jackson had grieved music fans all over the world. The unexpected demise of prominent personalities from the world of entertainment left their fans shell shocked. With the coming of the new year, people hoped that the news of celebrity deaths would come to an end but reports indicate the music world has lost yet another star. Johnny Maestro, the well-known singer of the music group, ‘The Brooklyn Bridge’ has died.

According to the reports, the famous singer, who had entertained his fans with his melodious yet powerful voice was battling cancer during the last days of his life. He was 70 years old at the time of his death. Les Cauchi, who is one of the original members of the band ‘The Brooklyn Bridge’ confirmed the news of Johnny Maestro’s death. He said that the singer breathed his last on Wednesday. Reports indicated that he had died a natural death as he ultimately lost the battle with the deadly disease cancer.

The rock and roll singer, who had died on Wednesday had entertained music lovers for decades and was known to have created a name for himself in the music industry. The much acclaimed musician was an integral part of the band ‘The Brooklyn Bridge’ and was a significant reason behind its huge fan base. He had been part of some of their well-known albums and the demise of the musical artist has come as a huge shock for the other band members. The demise of Johnny Maestro is indeed a great loss for the music industry.
