Johnny Depp to play Ozzy Osbourne

May 3, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Johnny Depp has emerged as the most preferred in the race to play Ozzy Osbourne, in a film based on the rock legend’s life. According to reports, Osbourne loves Depp’s films and would ideally want him to play the lead role in the movie.
Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne’s wife recently revealed about the plans of a movie on her husband’s life. Osbourne, the pioneer of the heavy metal genre who is also known as the “Godfather of Heavy Metal’ has once said that Depp should portray his colourful life story. He said that he would love to have a movie made with Johnny Depp playing him.
Forty six years old Depp was in news recently for reportedly saving a friend from a mugger brandishing a broken bottle. According to newspaper reports he stepped in when British singer Stephen Jones was threatened as they left an LA recording studio. It was scary but Depp looked the mugger straight in the eyes and told him to back off. Mugger backed off saying that he does not want to steal anything from Captain Jack Sparrow. Depp gave him a few bucks with an advice to straighten up his life.
Depp, who is a music buff, has just recorded a guitar solo for a new track by Jones’s band Babybird.
