Johnny Depp to act in ‘Carter Beats the Devil’

Los Angeles, June 29 (IANS) Actor Johnny Depp will reportedly play the lead role in Warner Bros adaptation of 2002 novel “Carter Beats the Devil”.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star has been asked to play the part of Charles Carter, a magician who is working on his grandest illusion.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the studio is also looking for directors and has put the word out to three large Hollywood agencies.
Depp, 48, is currently filming for “21 Jump Street” and “Dark Shadows”, and will appear as Tonto in “The Lone Ranger” in 2012.
