Johnny Depp Does A Jack Sparrow In Greenwich School

October 9, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): there are stars who read fan mail and there are stars who act upon them. Johnny Depp is one of those superstars who takes his fans very seriously. The Hollywood superstar recently got a fan mail from 9-year-old Beatrice Delap, who solicited ‘Captain jack Sparrow’s” to revolt against the teachers at her Greenwich school.
Johnny, who is currently shooting for the latest ‘Pirate of the Caribbean’ movie ‘On Stranger Tides’ decided to pay a surprise visit to little Beatrice and her friends at school. The young girl wrote to her favorite star that she and her fellow classmates were having trouble mutinying against their teachers and asked for his help in the matter.
The actor called up the school authorities and gave them ten minutes notice that he was on his way. the school authorities promptly called an assembly for the students where Depp hugged Beatrice. However the father of two requested the students not to stage a coup because the police were monitoring his moves.
The father of two donned his famous ‘Jack Sparrow’ costume and brought in a few extras to put up an act for the schoolchildren. The actor also danced while the children sang a popular ‘Pirate’ song. The actor stayed in character throughout his visit and interacted with the school students. It seems that Johnny Depp has won quite a few fans at the Greenwich school with his grand gesture. The schoolchildren were happy to have the actor in their midst and kept tweeting about the startling events. As for the Beatrice, we are sure that she has become very popular among her classmates.
